The Oculus Quest 2 is an upgrade with a lighter design, sharper display, and faster processor at a more affordable price. For $400, it’s the best all-in-one VR package, with optional accessories that enable PC tethering and longer operating times. It’s more affordable, and a great Improvement from the original Quest. It’s the only standalone headset, doesn’t cost 600 dollars, and has modern hardware. But it’s under Facebook, which has a lot of issues, including tracking motion, mic, and camera.

Facebook - It's from Facebook, but it's still the best value proposition. Facebook is selling them cheaper. Overall, VR still seems like a gimmick that allows playing games but is boring.

Upgrades - The Airlink update allows playing PC VRon Quest 2 right out of the box, which gives an impressive user experience with double-tap passthrough, inside-out tracking, and built-in audio. The FOV and resolution are also impressive, with no wires.

Cons - Some cons include the Oculus Insight, that's not perfect, has preset IPD settings, lacks dedicated headphones, is $101 more expensive, only 2-3 hours of battery life, and is not being designed for kids.
Pros - The pros include it doesn't require any cables, it has a sharp display, powerful processor, accurate motion tracking, optional PC tethering via accessory cable, is Lightweight, has a high-resolution display, low price, and has a great self-contained gaming experience. It works well with a handful of fitness apps.

Connectivity - It offers a true 6DOF VR experience with inside-out tracking and the ability to connect to a PC to play full PC VR content from both Oculus and SteamVR. Also, it features a USB-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack and can be connected to a PC through an oculus link, cable, or wirelessly, using a virtual desktop.
Controller - The new controllers are bigger and sturdier-feeling with a bigger button area with a thumb rest. Although it isn't a drastic redesign, the few small tweaks make the controllers feel better. The curved handles with prominent rings on top enable tracking via the headset's cameras, while the two triggers fit naturally under the index and middle fingers. They run on AA batteries, and the battery door is less prone to sliding off during intense gameplay sessions.
Design - It has the same minimal aesthetic as its predecessor but has a light grey finish. Also, the eye area is a bit smaller, and the included foam padding feels firmer and cushier, but wearing glasses seem a bit more jammed.
Dimensions & Weight - It measures 191.5 mm x 102 mm x 142.5 mm or 4.0 x 7.5 x 5.6 inches, not including the strap, and weighs 17.7 ounces, which is not light but still portable.
Eye Mask - The eye mask is easily pulled out to adjust the position of the lenses or insert a separator to accommodate glasses.

IPD - It has 3 IPD setting slots, which accommodate 58 to 72 mm. It can be set manually by moving the lenses to the different setting slots.
Lenses - The Oculus lenses provide a sharp screen, and prescription lens inserts are available.
Processor - It runs on a Snapdragon 865-derived Snapdragon XR2 processor, which allows it to easily handle the improved display with no noticeable stuttering or lag at any point during use. It allows a 90Hz refresh rate and cuts down on the lower-res halo on the edges of the display.
Speakers - The built-in speakers of the headset worked just as well.

Storage - It has an increased 6GB of RAM and 128 or 256GB of internal memory, depending on your variant. The 64 GB costs $299, and the 256 GB costs $399. But 64 GB is enough space for an average gamer. However, it still has no expandable storage.
Strap - The strap size may require an adjustment depending on the head size. Oculus replaced the side strap adjustments with 2 plastic sliders that sit at the rear of the headset, although there's a standard Velcro strap on the top of the headset, which connects to the headset with hook-and-loop fasteners.
Tracking - The full-motion 6DoF tracking, using 4 in-headset cameras, requires a well-lit environment to correctly calculate its position. However, more importantly than that, the hands won't be tracked if they're out of view of the cameras, like when behind the back.

Facebook - To set up, a Facebook account will be required to log in and use the headset, and it's not optional anymore. However, Facebook claimed they would guarantee data security and user compliance with regulations.
Guardian Boundary System - The guardian boundary system is designed to notify you of the edges of your play space when you're in VR to prevent accidents, as it remembers the specific areas you choose and lets you set up a stationary circle for games that don't require a lot of movement or walking around.
Hand Tracking - It can be played with bare hands as the headset supports hand tracking, which allows the hands to be moved freely in front of the headset to control the in-system pointer. Controls include pinching your thumb and forefinger together for a click and pinching and holding work as a click and drag.
Head Tracking - The head tracking remains accurate, with the 4 cameras constantly scanning the area to determine your position while the internal sensors track orientation. It also tracks motion data from the controllers with a 6DOF experience.

Usage - It can be used as a game console, fitness device, or social tool for meeting in virtual worlds. It can also browse the internet with its browser and record by double pressing the Oculus button.

Beginner-Friendly - The Q2 is a reasonably-priced option for people looking to try VR. Though not the best hardware, it's great for beginners trying VR.
Improvements - For $100 less than its predecessor, it has a better processor, higher resolution displays, and a smaller and lighter build. There are minor improvements, including the improved haptic feedback and automatic controllers switch when the headset is put on, thereby improving the overall VR experience.
Issues - Content Purchase - Having no access to a product you purchased should be illegal, and the FB side should be separated from purchased content.

Issues - Facebook - The Q2 is great, but the idea of Facebook having access to your data is unsettling. On the other hand, there are more companies out there that are better than Facebook. Natural Language Processing (NLP) lets a company take every word you say, turn it into text, and save it to your profile, which can correlate your IP and networking info to other data to uncover non-facebook profiles and link you to them. Overall, there are a lot of issues with data collection and privacy with Facebook, and it's up to you whether you'll risk your personal information being sold.
Issues - Hacked - Facebook doesn't have customer service that can help in recovering hacked accounts.

Issues - Recovery - Hacked accounts can be recovered, and a user can take 72 days. But, to recover the account, you'll need to get Oculus to file a report that your Oculus can't get used due to your account, and they'll send it to the proper Facebook team to review.
