The Anker Soundcore 3, despite its low price range, provides a great sound through the 2 speakers. Though it may not be the best option for outdoor use since the durability is not similar to the JBL Charge 4, it’s compact and easy to move around with. Drawbacks - It’s an interesting speaker to look at with some shortcomings though it has successfully provided the essential things. Specifically, the weak points are the controls that are positioned well but not easy to recognize and use, especially in a darker environment, and its inability to control the playlist from the device being used; thus, you have to use the device to manipulate the tracks.

Design & Sound - It has a rubber-coated finish on the body that offers protection if the speaker drops, but it attracts fingerprints and other marks, so it will need occasional cleaning. Sound-wise, it’s not high-end, and its highs are a bit harsh, while the bass is a bit weak.

Cons - Its cons are that the highs are a bit harsh, the soft plastic attracts fingerprints, and it lacks waterproofing making the JBL Flip a tempting alternative with a generic design. Some people have experienced echoing when using the speakerphone.
Pros - Its pros are its loud, clear, and well-balanced sound quality, 24hr battery life, USB out for charging other devices, built-in microphone for making speakerphone calls, lightweight, long Bluetooth range, and price.

Build - Build-wise it is solid, but it’s not recommended to be thrown around as it’s not designed for that. It has an all-around good quality with good materials and a nice aesthetic. Inside, it has 2 3-watt speakers with a bass port, dual full-range drivers that are separated, a passive radiator with a logo, and a built-in DSP. On the top of the unit are the control buttons. On the side are the USB-C port, lanyard hole, and baseboard. At the back is a backstrap. At the bottom are the rubber feet and serial numbers. Overall, it’s a compact speaker that can be carried anywhere with a battery life of 24hrs on a single charge.
Buttons & Controls - The buttons at the top are raised slightly above the body level, black-on-black, and blend into the smooth plastic, making it a bit hard to identify and decent, but they are indistinct as they lack click when activated. Specifically, it includes a volume, play, pause, skip, Bluetooth pairing, and power button. However, they do not extend to operating music selections on the device.
Color Variants - With a minimalist design, it comes in blue, red, and black colors.

Design - Its design is plain and simple, which doesn’t draw attention with curved edges that give it a nice aesthetic. Also, Anker did well by placing their name in a simple way that doesn’t take away from its overall aesthetic, in a way that almost adds to the design and helps it differentiate from other small rectangles in the category. Also, it has a nice material, audio controls, and Bluetooth. Lastly, it has a grille and base radiator in the middle that thumps out the bass.
Dimensions - t’s a compact speaker that measures 6.5” x 2.25” x 1.75, and is lightweight at 12.6 ounces (0.7 lbs).

LED Light - It has a small LED light on the front that flashes blue when it’s pairing, stays blue when connected, and flashes red when the battery is low. However, the placement is slightly off-center because of the driver’s placement on the grille.

Bluetooth - It’s a budget range product with great connectivity, including a built-in Bluetooth 4.2 that gives a range of about 60 feet, assuming there are no obstructions in the way, as it might start stuttering if there are obstructions on the path. Also, its controls work well with devices connected through Bluetooth. Performance-wise, connections are easy; it pairs up quickly and keeps a strong signal up to the limits of its range.
Input & Port - On its side is an AUX input for connecting devices that aren’t Bluetooth-compatible. There’s also a micro-USB port for battery charging and a 3.5mm socket for headphones.
Stereo Sound & WIfi - It offers stereo sound, but it lacks Wi-Fi support.

Performance - Its waterproofing and USB-C are nice, with extra bass and oomph in the sound. However, the range can be limiting if it’s used as a portable device. The user finds the sound breaking up with the SC1 just a few meters away from the source. When using it in their kitchen, it has to be at the perfect angle to have a clear sound, as walking in front of the device does break the sound even though their kitchen is only a few meters from the receiver, and when placed on top of the fridge or on a shelf opposite the PC source, which gives it line of sight, still breaks up the sound.

Volume - Generally, small speakers always struggle a bit with volume, especially at the bottom end, while the lows are what you might expect them to be. In this, the high end can have a problem if the volume is cranked up as the higher frequencies become a bit shrill and quite harsh, though it can be solved by lowering the volume, which makes the harshness go away, and help the bottom end as well. Overall, the sound was clean but lacked real penetration; as with small speakers, there’s an increase in the volume where you reach a pony and sense that you can go no further, and at that point, it’s quite loud, but the sound is adequate.

Sound Quality - The SC2 gives a punchier, more aggressive, and clearer kind of brighter tone, but not as bassy because the speaker’s overall tone is brighter. The SC3 features a spiral bass port that helps fire sound out for increased audibility and delivers a crisp sound quality. It can be hooked up to almost any mobile device with Bluetooth Technology for instant music playback. Build-wise, it has a bass port and dual drivers installed with a tuned DSP that helps produce a decent sound with low harmonic distortion, giving a decent level of clarity and clear deep sound.
Specifications - Specs-wise, it has 2 bass radiators, titanium drivers, and it connects to an app for future updates and custom EQ, with an output of 16W power.

Soundcore 3 vs Soundcore 2 - The SC2 comes in a box with a USB-C cable, while the SC3 comes with an additional wrist strap for the lanyard hole at the side. Build-wise, The SC2 is similar in height and depth but is thinner than it is tall; thus, it fits well in a normal-sized backpack and is easier to hold; unlike the SC3, it also has a 3.5mm jack, while the SC3 is similar in height and length with the SC2 but is rough 1.5x the depth of SC2, it also has a USB-C charging port, and radiator. Additionally, both have a built-in mic that can take, hold, switch, and reject calls, and buttons at the top that has a rubber feel and are fully water-resistant. Performance-wise, the SC2 sounds better than the SC3 as the latter is tinnier with a muffled sound but is more bassy than SC2. However, the SC2 can only pair in stereo. Thus you’ll have to buy the same model to pair them.

Soundcore 3 vs Soundcore 3 Mini - The SC3 is 60% louder as it has dual drivers compared to the Mini, with only one. Both sound clean and are on the sound core signature EQ with the bass preset. Overall, both sound good; it just depends on the form factor and what it will be used for in choosing between them.

Soundcore 3 vs Tribit vs Bugani M83 - Both are good budget options with good waterproof ratings. However, the Tribit is a bit larger and louder, while the Soundcore is smaller and more compact. The user’s favorite product in its price range is the Bugani M83 though it’s significantly larger.

Connectivity Issue - There’s an issue with the connectivity of the SC3, as it easily loses connection even when the receiver is in the line of sight. The user tried carrying it to their laundry room, but it completely lost connection; even after they brought the receiver to a better line of sight, it just improved marginally.

EQ Issue - A user said that a speaker shouldn’t need much adjustment, as if they weren’t a tinkerer, they would’ve returned it. They also find the base EQs to be disappointing.

Bluetooth Troubleshoot - A user waiting for a replacement said that it might be a Bluetooth version/codec issue if it’s still as bad. Specifically, what may be happening is that you’re pairing as BLE (low energy), which doesn’t go as far as regular B/EDR. A troubleshooting recommendation is to delete all pairings, reset the speaker, then connect it to just one device and see if it’s still as bad. Also, with a PC, the speaker, once connected to BT 4.2, cannot run at BT 5; thus, it may be experiencing hardware locked at a lower power.
