Overview - Build - The iPhone 15 Pro Max comes in a titanium chassis replacing the glossy stainless steel, with a matte brushed metal frame which provides some fingerprint resistance. It comes with color options aptly named as natural, blue, white, and black titanium. The new chassis provides a notable reduction in the phone’s overall weight, without sacrificing durability. Overview - Features - The iPhone 15 Pro Max has an impressive array of features, starting with a 48MP sensor main camera that offers ProRAW format images for improved editorial control, the Dynamic Island notch from the iPhone 14 Pro which provides easier access to active apps and Live Activities plus more display space compared to the standard notch, and its exclusive 5x telephoto lens which has a 25 percent larger sensor, wide F 2.8 aperture, and upgraded 3D sensor chip OIS, which makes it the brightest, most stable five times zoom seen on a phone.
Overview - Performance - The iPhone 15 Pro Max comes with the new A17 Pro chip, which boasts up to 10 times faster processor performance, 2x more total neural engine cores, an AV1 decoder enabling faster video streaming, and a fully redesigned GPU which supports hardware Ray Tracing in games.
Recommendation - The iPhone 15 Pro Max is recommended to users who want the best iPhone camera experience due to the myriad features and unique capabilities of the phone’s camera system. It is also recommended to multimedia connoisseurs due to its 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, and its dual-channel speakers.

Comparison vs. iPhone XS MaxUpgradePerformanceDurability
Comparison vs. iPhone 12 Pro - The iPhone 15 Pro Max has better RAM capacity than the iPhone 12 Pro, but not enough to warrant an upgrade for some users, as the difference in capacity is only 2GB.
Availability - The iPhone 15 Pro Max and its variants are available for pre-order beginning on September 15, and are on open sale starting September 22.
Price - Variants - The iPhone 15 starts at $799 for its base model, going up to $899 for the iPhone 15 Plus, $999 for the iPhone 15 Pro, and $1199 for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Value - The iPhone 15 Pro Max is rumored to get a price increase, but is still much cheaper than users have expected, and even more so when considering that its base model has 256GB storage capacity.
Concerns - Design - The iPhone 15 Pro Max while having a decent selection of colors, lacks the ‘gold’ color which some users were anticipating, due to the color’s popularity in markets like China.
Drawbacks - Action Button - The iPhone 15 Pro Max’s new Action button can be a detriment to some users that were used to the old mute button, as the old button was easy to operate without necessitating one to look at the phone during operation, while the new Action button, depending on user setting, can do different things, which can end up confusing the user.
Issue - Battery - The iPhone 15 Pro Max and its variants have no discernable improvements to battery life, as are the previous generations going as far back as 10 years, according to some users.
Issue - Build - The iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro’s titanium build is softer than stainless steel, less scratch resistant, and impossible to polish, thus making the eventual scratches very visible, especially on blue and black color options.
Issue - Design - The iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro not having the gold color option is speculated to be due to additional manufacturing processes needed to incorporate said color to titanium in comparison to steel. The muted color options for both phones in general are unappealing to some users.
Issue - Manufacturer - Display - The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max thankfully have 120Hz refresh rates, but the fact that the non-Pro variants retain 60Hz is a point of contention for some users along with the price for said variants being seen as inappropriate.
Issue - Performance - The iPhone 15 Pro Max and its variants, even with the new USB-C port, have no discernable improvement in terms of battery life and charging speeds.
Issue - RAM - The iPhone 15 Pro Max’s RAM capacity is considered by some to be inadequate, citing that for modern machines the capacity should at least be 16GB.
