Usability & Durability - There haven't been any issues for 2 years of using the HyperX QuadCast S. It's a plug and play type of mic with good audio quality, cool design, and a physical mute.

Verdict - The HyperX QuadCast S at $159 is a great microphone for streamers and content creators who doesn't want to go with more expensive options. It can also easily become a staple of any setup because of its high sound quality, reliable build and customizable RGB lighting. Also, it's built-in shock mount and pop filter makes it a competitor of the Blue Yeti in terms of sound quality. The HyperX QuadCast is a cheaper alternative for the S model if the aesthetics and personalization doesn't really matter to you. But if you're deep into the RGB gaming setup, then its worth the extra $30.

Aesthetic - The aesthetics are no doubt the biggest highlight of the HyperX QuadCast S with its dynamic double RGB lighting system that resembles a lava lamp, which slowly transitions from one color scheme to another. The RGB is also fully adjustable through the Ngenuity software. This feature also makes people more willing to pay an extra amount.
Build - The HyperX QuadCast S is a fun USB microphone with rainbow LED color beneath the grille. It has a long cylindrical build made of all-metal casing. Although, its USB connection is not as durable as an XLR and does not provide the same audio quality, it's much easier to use for most people except for extreme audiophiles. There's a layer of foam inside that acts like a pop filter, which works similar to the QuadCast model that gets rid of plosives.
Buttons - At the bottom there's a gain button for gain controls, a dial on the back for switching between polar patterns including stereo, omnidirectional, cardioid, and bi-directional, a tap-to-mute button on the top that also switches the lights off upon muting.
Gain Dial - The gain dial is useful in multiple situations since it allows the user to alter the sensitivity at will. Additionally, it stops audio volumes from continually reaching their maximum during horror game sessions.

Ports - The ports in the HyperX QuadCast S include a 3.5mm headphone jack at the back for real-time monitoring of your stream or recording, and a USB-C connection that makes it different from the QuadCast model which only had a mini USB connection. The USB-C connection should be on almost everything by now, but that's not the case so people tend to buy the old devices since it's also cheaper.
RGB Lighting - The honeycomb aesthetics in the QuadCast is now replaced with the customizable RGB lighting in the QuadCast S, so if personalization is important to you and money is not the problem then the S would be the best option. The RGB feature makes it suited more for streamers and people who want their mics to be visible on the camera. To customize the RGB lighting, you'll have to plug it in and use the Ngenuity app, it will allow you to add different layers, pick target lights, and adjust the speed.

Similar to the QuadCast, it comes with a shock mount that helps in isolating the sound and mounting the mic on a boom arm as it adds an additional pivot point making it easier to position the mic.

Adapter - The mount adapter that comes with the QuadCast S works with a 3/8- and 5/8-inch thread sizes that allows you to easily attach it to a boom arm for greater flexibility, though the shock mount you'll be using is still plastic.
Mic Arm - A mic arm is recommendable as it helps in setting up the mic easily, though a boom arm with springs will not be suitable for the QuadCast as it's not heavy enough to keep it on place.

Polar Patterns - The QuadCast S has four different polar patterns, which work well, but some may not be able to use the different patterns, especially if it will only be used for single-person streaming.
Stereo Mode - The stereo mode will pick up a stereo signal. It's used for recording ambiance, a band playing, or wherever you want to get a good sense of space in stereo mode. Talking to the different sides of the mic will also affect the output produced. It's best used for band rehearsals.

Audio - It is able to record clear audio that boasts a neutral-leaning frequency response with slightly de-emphasized bass notes to mitigate the proximity effect, which refers to the unpleasant amplification and distortion of low-frequency sounds when someone speaks close to the mic. It's not much of an issue because it would pick up plosives and fricatives when you come too close. The minor dip at 1kHz prevents nasal sounds.

Compatability - The software of the HyperX is not compatible for Mac even though it is listed as compatible with the microphone itself, and it only works with PCs. It's designed to work with PCs, WindowsOS, PS4, PS5, and macOS through a USB-C to USB-A connection, so it can be plugged into any device that uses a mic input.
Durability - The sound quality of the QuadCast S is amazing. However, the RGB broke after 4 months with the lights suddenly turning green.

Noise Cancellation - This may not be the microphone for you if you need one that rejects a great deal of ambient noise. Even if you attempt to remain quiet, it will take up a significant amount of ambient sounds. Putting it next to the mouse or keyboard will be problematic, especially in a confined space. However, with Nvidia Broadcast, background noise can be minimized.
Sound Performance - The QuadCast S is an excellent microphone with a touch of bass-heavy EQ. It works well even without a pop filter or condenser. As long as you're in a reasonable distance from it, then it can work straight out of the box without sounding terrible. In tests, the multiple microphone patterns worked well, and when the different capsule configurations were set, they accurately picked up sound from the directions they were pointed in while blocking most outside noise from other directions.
Connection Issue - When the mic, boom arm, or desk is slightly tapped or bumped, the QuadCast S disconnects. Customer support never responded to the issue.

Performance - Gain & Sensivity - When the gain is turned up, the test recordings clip fairly easily. The gain knob at the bottom allows the user to keep an eye on the recording and to quickly adjust the gain or sensitivity whenever the audio starts to get too loud.

HyperX Quadcast S vs Yeti vs Samson Q2U - The QuadCast S seems to be a good option. Both QuadCast S and Yeti are condenser mics. Nvidia works better in QuadCast S. The Yeti picks up all the background noise in an untreated room, but its software crashes a lot, has no shock mount and pop filter, and the 3.5mm jack for monitoring never fully powered the M40xs or X2HRs. The QuadCast looks nicer and comes in a shock mount and with a pop filter. However, the Samson Q2U is advisable for people who will just normally talk to the mic and not do ASMRs, as the Q2U is cheaper at just around $70. It's also a dynamic mic, so no worries about the background noise.
Comparison vs. Yeti - So far, there have been no issues with the HyperX QuadCast S after switching from the Yeti.

Price Comparison - The QuadCast S is an overpriced gamer gear. The Audio Technica and Samson mic are better options for less money. It’s amazing how a lot of people are willing to spend extra for a gaming mic without realizing the difference between a dynamic and a condenser mic.

Flaw - The HyperX QuadCast's drawbacks were the popping noise when you pressed hard on it, the fact that it cannot be removed from the shock mount, limiting portability, and the cheap feel of the shock mount because it is the only thing made of plastic.
Purpose - The HyperX Quadcast S is designed to do different things, including recording music, doing vocals, and podcasting. The different settings will allow you to use it on different occasions, such as two people sitting on either side of the mic.
