Value - GMMK Pro is a barebones keyboard kit with a premium price, has a lot of high-end features but awful stabilizer, fantastic value proportion for any enthusiast, great recommendation without spending too much money
Sound - GMMK Pro sounds okay, simultaneously muted and a bit hollow, overall sound signature is on the deeper end, resonant with foam installed, becomes a lot loose with foam removed.
Stabilizers - G.O.A.T. stabilizer is glorious but do not live up to their name, rattling, pre-lubed with G-lube, mediocre, fully functional and without issues, non-GOAT may not fit well.
Plates - Punched rather than CNC machined, tough, have folded over areas that give the plate some depth, polycarbonate plate is injection molded and has additional ligament tabs, has 3 plates you can choose from, have 2 screws for plastic bits that lines up the PCB to the plate.
Dimensions - 20mm tall in front, 34mm tall in back, 332mm wide, 1.25mm thick, 136mm deep. Typing angle is 6 deg. Weighs 3 lbs or 9.5 oz when fully assembled, decent weight for 65-75% keyboard.
Build - 75% compact board with spaced dedicated navigation keys, has RGB backlighting with individual to any key, has 83 keys, customizable, well-built, made of a full aluminum chassis and base plate, has four circular rubber feet on the underside, comes mostly assembled for a kit, has 2 acylic diffusers, recessed hole in the middle, has nicely finished “Glorious” engraved in center, hotswappable, gasket mount gives flex to typing experience, gaskets are tightly compressed.
RTINGS.com - Kelsey Linhares, Kassandra Alarie, and John Peroramas
Layout - 75% implementation is as nice as the layout gets, more compact than others, gasket-mount design, finish on case is clean, smooth, no blemishes.
Switch Compatibility - Have five pin switch compatibility, can use 3 or 5-pin switches, switches utilize POM stem, poly-carbonate upper, and nylon lower.
Q1 vs GMMK Pro - GMMK Pro doesn’t come with switches or keycaps, keyboard functions better. Q1 is fully assembled hotswappable board, worth considering and around the same price or $20 cheaper with switches and caps. Both have RGB backlighting. Neither feels like a true, gasket-mounted keyboard.
