Build - Pads - The HD 6XX comes with excellent velour stock pads that fit securely without any visible gaps. It's important to keep in mind that different pads can change the sound signature of headphones, and replacements in different materials are offered by independent businesses. To keep the original sound signature when the first set wears out, it is advised to buy OEM pads from Sennheiser. Even after years of use, the velour pads have proven to be sturdy.
Build - Weight - For full-size headphones, the Sennheiser HD 6XX is lightweight at 9.2 ounces. Large ear cups with velour pads offer a snug fit without applying too much pressure. The roomy ear cups allow for a natural positioning and prevent contact with the outer ears.
Design - They are not designed for fashion purposes.

Comparison vs. HD600 - Although some people may not like the initial clamping pressure, the HD 600 series is comfortable. The memory foam in the ear cups is not the softest one on the market. However, they break in nicely and become very cozy to wear over time. The HD 600 series' open-backed design offers a natural audio experience for music, movies, or games, but it also makes it possible to hear background noise. It's crucial to remember that anyone nearby can easily hear loud audio.
Comparison vs. HD650, & Comparison vs. HD58X - The HD650s and the 6XX have similar unique characteristics. When using the bottle head mainline amplifier's high output mode, the HD58X performs better than expected. However, regardless of output impedance, the 6XX sounds excellent with any amplifier.

With its heavier sound and more accurate representation, the 6XX offers a superior headphone listening experience, while the DT880's V-shaped signature can make it sound hollow. The DT880 excels in terms of soundstage size, whereas the 6XX's soundstage is constrained by its lower treble energy. The DT880's increased treble, however, can occasionally produce a slightly hollow sound that places the mids behind the bass and treble. Comparison vs. 598SE - Since there are diminishing returns, the HD 6XX is better than the 598SE but not twice as good. The latters head clamp had to be adjusted, but the 598SE is incredibly comfortable. Non-overly bass-heavy music and video games sound great on the HD 6XX.
