It’s a closed-back headphone that’s well-made, robust, and has excellent sound quality. Due to their closed-back construction, they are more adaptable and have marginally better bass compared to the DT 990 PRO or DT 880. However, they can be difficult to carry without a backpack, and they leak sound in more silent settings. These headphones have a precise, natural tuning and are made exclusively for studio monitoring. They offer outstanding sound quality from 5Hz to 35kHz, which is a wide frequency response range. They also come in an affordable price range, are pleasant to wear, and provide great value for money when used as studio monitoring headphones.

Overview - Price, Durability & Comfort - Priced at $179. It has an excellent, heavy, detachable curly cable that prevents unplugging by accident. Also, it has a durable construction and there's a website's accessibility to replacement components. Bright, crisp, thundering bass and crystal-clear treble characterize the sound. They are exceptional at identifying each vocal and instrumental layer. At higher volumes, however, listening fatigue sets in. The main issue is the clamping force, which makes wearing glasses difficult for some users. When used with a Fiio K5 Pro, the 250-ohm version offers sufficient volume, and enhances the instrumentation. They sound great on laptops, however, with a phone sound isn't that clear.

Overview - Gaming - These closed-back headphones offer a wide soundstage, enabling gaming isolation without sacrificing performance. The soundstage is excellent for a closed-back headphone, even though it may not compare to high-end open-back headphones. The sense of openness and space, as well as the precise imagery and attention to detail, all add to their overall quality.

Overview - Neutral Sound - Excellent closed-back, neutral-listening headphones, the DT 770. With a virtually flawless mid-range and well-controlled bass that doesn't overshadow other parts, they provide a well-balanced audio rendition. While they don't have the same wide soundstage as the DT 990 PRO or DT 880, they do have greater bass thanks to their closed design. The listener's head shape, however, may have a slight effect on the bass range. Additionally, due to an emphasis on the treble region with some recordings, they can sound a little bit sharp.

Overview - Travel - There's an inadequate isolation although it has a strong yet hefty design, and the lack of controls makes them less convenient for use when traveling. Instead of being used for commuting, these headphones are more appropriate for studio or residential settings.

Overview - Sound Quality - In relation to the mid-range, it has a slightly negative 0.28 dB bass amount and a positive 0.82 dB treble amount. The connected device has an impact on the sound quality. While utilizing a dedicated headphone amp is advised for the best sound quality, connecting to a smartphone may result in reduced power and bass performance. Sibilants may come off as sharp and piercing with these headphones' neutral sound profile, which correctly reproduces vocals and lead instruments. Even subtle noises may be heard thanks to their accurate, crystal-clear sound reproduction over the whole frequency range of 5Hz to 35kHz. They work best inside even though they provide respectable isolation. The emphasis on the highs is characteristically Beyerdynamic, and the headphones are excellent at recreating sub-bass frequencies without overpowering the mix.

Build - Cable, Headband, & Cups - Different impedances are available for the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro headphones: 32 ohm with a 5-foot straight cable, 80 ohm with nearly 10-feet of straight wire, and 250 ohm with a 10-foot coiled cable. With a steel headband and forks held together by replaceable screws, the construction quality is outstanding. The headband is cozy, and can be changed. The cups' exteriors are composed of hard plastic. Despite being exposed and very long, the wires connecting the headband to the cup have not caused any problems.

Build - Comfort & Noise Isolation - The DT 770 Pro headphones by Beyerdynamic weigh 0.6 lbs. and exert 1.3 lbs of clamping force. They offer enough of padding and are moderately comfortable for brief periods. The plush microfiber-covered ear cups are designed to comfortably accommodate most ear shapes. On the other hand, they can eventually grow uncomfortable and feel tight on the head. They offer good noise isolation but do let some sound through. They have an excellent combination of foam density in the air pad and a reasonable clamping force, making them comfortable for some users.

Build - Dimensions & Portability - It's not portable because they do not fold or lay flat, and their bulkiness makes them difficult to carry without a bag. They have dimensions of 7.5" x 5.4" x 3.2" (length, width, and height), and a volume of approximately 136.00 in3 (2,228.63 cm3).

Build - Durability & Material - It has a robust metal frame, comparable to the DT 990 Pro, making them strong and long-lasting. Due to their density, the ear cups can withstand drops without breaking. The DT 880s' luxury construction contrasts with the rather plasticky feel of the ear cup enclosures. Beyerdynamic emphasizes durability, using strong plastic on the ear cups and metal in the headband and ear cup forks. Rubber and plastic are used to protect the cable effectively. Because it doesn't squeak or catch, the velour cushioning utilized in the earpads is comfortable for people wearing glasses. In comparison to leatherette earpads, it also enables improved heat dissipation. If necessary, the pads can be removed for cleaning.

Build - Material - Accessories - Its soft and breathable velour construction guarantees comfort even during prolonged sessions. Despite just weighing 270 grams, they are made of strong materials and are long-lasting. The headband is constructed of spring steel and cushioned for comfort. The 1/4" adapter and the gold-plated 1/8" TRS plug are both top-notch components and parts. When compared to wireless headphones, the bundled 9.8ft cord provides greater studio mobility while preserving higher sound quality. The lightweight plastic and aluminium headphones with plush ear pads and a removable headband for further comfort. This variant only uses the 3-meter straight cable, but the 250 ohm version uses a coiled cable. Every component of the headphones is user-serviceable and replaceable, and Beyerdynamic provides replacement components that are easily accessible. For studio work, the DT 770 Pro is a flexible and dependable option.

Build - Pads - Velour pads on the DT 770 Pro headphones have an inner diameter of roughly five and a half centimeters and an outside diameter of ten centimeters. They offer good comfort, though after a few hours they could start to feel a little heated. Although the fabric pads on the headphones are durable and well-made, they may eventually become stained. Although they can cost more, replacement pads are accessible. It's vital to keep in mind that when the ear pads deteriorate, the foam also does so, possibly causing a reduction in the amplitude of the bass and treble as well as uneven wear around the circumference. Channel imbalance and frequency dips, as well as other effects of the hardware, can be heard in the audio.

Build - Stability - The snug fit of the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro headphones keeps them from slipping off while casually listening. However, because of their bulky construction, they are hard to wear while running because the big ear cups could fall off with intense physical exertion. Intense workouts or use in the gym are not recommended for these headphones.

Design - Style - The closed-back DT 770 Pro headphones by Beyerdynamic resemble the DT 990 Pro. They have a strong metal frame, a removable cushion strap, and round ear cups. Despite being a little bulky, they are comfortable enough to wear outside despite their utilitarian and unremarkable style.

Connectivity - The wire of the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO headphone is 3 meters long and is not detachable. It uses a straight 3.5mm TRS jack connector, with threading for a 1/4-inch adapter. Each ohm version has a different cable style, but none of them are removable. Also, it’s compatible with devices that have a standard 1/8" TRS audio jack, such as MP3 players, tablets, smartphones, or PCs. Impedance Level - Three distinct impedance versions of the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro are offered: 32 ohm, 80 ohm, and 250 ohm. The 32 ohm version can be used on a console or when traveling without the need for a special amplifier. Although it is not required, most headphone amplifiers can withstand the impedance of the 80 ohm version, which benefits from having one. The 80 ohm version balances bass response and high-end detail, however all variants have similar qualities. The 250 ohm version provides excellent detail but needs a lot of power to operate at its full potential. On the other hand, some listeners might find the 250 ohm version to sound sterile and flat.

Leakage - Poor leakage is present in the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro, with the most of it happening between 400Hz and 10kHz. The overall volume of leakage is not that loud, though. Although not excessively loud, the sound that leaks will be rather rich and midrangey. Consider the AKG K371 headphones if you require headphones with less leaking.

Noise Isolation - The isolation on the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro is only fair. They function well in the treble range with an average reduction of 30 dB, block no noise in the bass range, and produce a respectable 13 dB reduction in the midrange.

Comparison: 80 Ohm Version vs. 250 Ohm Version - The Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro comes in two different impedances: 250 ohm and 80 ohm. The 250-ohm variant is described as neutral, whilst the 80-ohm version is described as aggressively v-shaped. The bass quality is greater overall and quicker, more dynamic, and in the 80-ohm version. The mids of the two versions are comparable. On the 250-ohm variant, the treble is more prolonged and brighter. Overall, the 80-ohm version offers a pleasant all-in-one combination of sound, build, and comfort, but for the best performance, it might need an amp.

Comparison vs. K240 MKII - Compared to K240 MKIIs, the DT770s, the latter has an improved bass and sub-bass response that make them sound lot more pleasurable for pop and rock music. Additionally, the DT770s provide good image and a respectable soundstage for closed-back headphones. They aren't as detailed as the K240 MKIIs, though. In conclusion, the DT770s are entertaining headphones, especially suited to genres like Eurobeat. Although their sound is slightly v-shaped, the mids don't feel recessed.

Comparison vs. Monoprice M1060, Comparison vs. Bose QC35, & Comparison vs. Samsung Galaxy Buds - After nearly three months of testing the DT770s and comparisons with competing headphones like the Monoprice M1060, Bose QC35s, and Samsung Galaxy Buds+, it is clear and detailed with excellent image. In contrast to the M1060s, they lack warmth and have a brighter, treble-heavy sound. Compared to the M1060s' deeper, more richly textured sound, the vocalists and instruments lack body. The DT770s have tight and polished bass, but lack slam and punch. The QC35s' bass, in contrast, is boomy and unrefined. Although simply adjusting the DT770s' equalization improved it, but they are not typically thought of as fun headphones. They provide a distinctive audio experience with clear and accurate sound that some people might find appealing, especially those who favor a bass-light profile.

Comparison vs. HD6XX, Comparison vs. AKG K361, Comparison vs. Meze 99 Noir, & Comparison vs. Meze 99 Neo - The DT770s 32 ohm version has a strong bass and sharp treble, but hurts the ears after a few hours, and the midrange is muffled, making vocals hard to hear. Although the imaging is passable, the soundstage is just passable, especially for directional audio in games like Counter-Strike. They have a V-shaped sound signature that is not suitable for editing. In comparison, headphones like the AKG K361 offer more balanced tuning with richer mids, while the Meze 99 Noir or Neo provide a more relaxed sound with recessed treble. Both of those options are less fatiguing and more comfortable. The DT770s offer good detail, but the tuning, which has a shallow midrange and excessively enhanced bass, can occasionally be intolerable. The build quality is great, but overall, they're not best to recommend.
