The finish is impressive, the components are good quality, and the unit itself is heavy which helps resist distortion and vibration. Overview - Sound Quality - The R1700BT’s sound quality is impressive for its price. The ability to adjust treble and bass as needed is very convenient. The high ends and bass are great, and there is no noticeable difference between Bluetooth and Line except volume where Line In is only slightly louder.

Design - Finish - The R1700BT has a sophisticated design; it’s been enclosed in hand-picked walnut vinyl for an elegant look which seems more expensive than what the actual price is. The R1700BT comes in 3 different finishes: white, black, and wood. The MDF construction of the cabinet is standard and includes a vinyl walnut woodgrain wrap, which may be subject to wear and tear and eventually start to peel. In a humid environment this may become a problem sooner rather than later.

Midrange - The R1700BT’s midrange is its real strength, as it has a warm and richly detailed midrange that works wonders with vocals. Instruments like guitars also sound great with higher than average detail pickup, and the decay throughout the midrange is good as motes notes seem to tail off into the distance.
